The external materials to be used are robust and are designed to limit the potential for vandalism, yet maintain an aesthetically pleasing appearance. The west facing facade will be built in local stone, provided by one of our supporters and the other elevations will be a timber composite cladding, designed to be sustainable, robust and vandal proof.
The main part of the clubhouse will have a blue slate, or similar, roof covering with the changing room area, sitting subservient to the primary part, having a metal sheet cladding.
The Clubhouse area will have robust finishes, capable of taking studded boots (to avoid the younger members of the Club having to wait outside to remove them) and all finishes will be easy to clean and capable of straightforward replacement if any damage occurs.
The Club will have a sustainable energy system, based upon the existing electrical supply that runs to the changing rooms and some form of photovoltaic panels may be included.
The Club bar has been designed to appear more like a public house bar, rather than the low-quality Rugby Club bars that exist elsewhere and will have a strong Stamford character.
We firmly believe the new clubhouse will be a lasting legacy for the local Stamford community.
